Auch wenn das Wort oft diese Bedeutung hat, darf man nicht glauben, dass das immer so ist. Although the word does often have this meaning, it's a mistake to think it always does.

Wer glaubt, bei dem Lied ginge es um Drogen, hat es völlig falsch verstanden. People who think the song is about drugs have got the wrong end of the stick.

Entweder glaubt sie, dass sie es nicht kann, oder aber es interessiert sie einfach nicht. She either thinks she can't do it or else she just isn't interested.
