Pictures of the machine tools and the products they were used to make are on display in Hanover. Since Ruff shows the whole of the negative, parts of the original photograph can be seen which the original photographer had allowed when taking the picture, but had masked during subsequent processing. Caught on camera by chance are monumental machine halls, bits of workbenches, cranes, and sometimes also people standing behind the objects photographed, holding up a white cloth as a neutral backdrop. Ruff leaves all the traces of touching-up and the identification numbers as he found them. This evidently was just raw material.
