In "Als wir träumten (While We Were Dreaming)", Meyer writes about the bleak, dreary East German youth of a group of friends potentially at risk of slipping into criminality; while in "Warum du mich verlassen hast (Why You Left Me)", Ingendaay describes life in a West German boarding school, telling the story of a boy who becomes "homeless", losing his family and all his former certainties.
