Betreiber von Abfallverbrennungs- und Mitverbrennungsanlagen haben die in Anhang III Kapitel I genannten Anforderungen an Abfallverbrennung und Mitverbrennung einzuhalten. [EU]

Operators of incineration plants and co-incineration plants shall comply with the general requirements for incineration and co-incineration set out in Chapter I of Annex III.

Da die Abfallverbrennung und Mitverbrennung bestimmter tierischer Nebenprodukte nicht unter die Richtlinie 2000/76/EG des Europäischen Parlaments und des Rates vom 4. Since the incineration and the co-incineration of certain animal by-products do not fall within the scope of Directive 2000/76/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 December 2000 on the incineration of waste [4], adequate rules for the prevention of health risks arising from such operations should be laid down in this Regulation, taking into account the possible effects on the environment.

Co-incineration of waste –; either as a recovery or disposal operation –; is subject to similar conditions regarding approval and operation to those regarding waste incineration, in particular as to air emission limit values, waste water and residue discharge, control and monitoring and measurement requirements.
