[EU]	At the international level, legal barriers to the geological storage of CO2 in geological formations under the seabed have been removed through the adoption of related risk management frameworks under the 1996 London Protocol to the 1972 Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter (1996 London Protocol) and under the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic (OSPAR Convention).

[EU]	The Additional Protocol to the Cooperation Agreement for the Protection of the Coasts and Waters of the North-East Atlantic against Pollution is hereby approved on behalf of the European Union.

	Nach der Annahme des Beschlusses des Rates über die Unterzeichnung - im Namen der Europäischen Gemeinschaft - des Zusatzprotokolls zum Übereinkommen über die Zusammenarbeit beim Schutz der Küsten und Gewässer des Nordostatlantiks gegen Verschmutzung am 12. Dezember 2008 wurde das Zusatzprotokoll am 25. März 2009 im Namen der Gemeinschaft unterzeichnet.
