	Bei diesen Orten handelt es sich meist um kleinräumige Stadtviertel und so genannte roji, schmale Seiten- und Hintergassen, die so eng sind, dass man sie nur zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad passieren kann. 	Sowohl in Shanghai als auch in Berlin kommt es seit geraumer Zeit zu einer Renaissance der kleinen, als Ausdruck regionaler Wohn- und Lebensform empfundenen Stadtviertel: in Shanghai regt sich zunehmender, wenn auch meist vergeblicher Widerstand gegen die Zerstörung der so genannten lilong, dem chinesischen Äquivalent zu den japanischen roji, in Berlin wird die Kultur der Hinterhöfe, des Kiez, wieder entdeckt. [G]	In Shanghai as well as in Berlin for quite some time now there has been a renaissance of the small district - as the expression of a regional form of housing and way of life. In Shanghai there has been more and more resistance, albeit in vain, to the destruction of the lilong - the Chinese equivalent of the Japanese roji. In Berlin the Kiez, the culture of the backyards, seems to be enjoying a comeback.
