[EU]	Recent events, such as the floods in Central and Eastern Europe in the summer of 2002, the Prestige accident in Spain in November 2002 and the heat wave and extensive forest fires in southern Europe in the summer of 2003 show that the action undertaken at Community level in the field of civil protection pursuant to Decision 1999/847/EC should be continued.
	Es empfiehlt sich, die Zusammenarbeit der Vertragsparteien des Abkommens auf die Entscheidung 2005/12/EG des Rates vom 20. Dezember 2004 zur Änderung der Entscheidung 1999/847/EG in Bezug auf die Verlängerung des Aktionsprogramms der Gemeinschaft für den Katastrophenschutz auszuweiten.
