[G]	Germany is the country of media festivals, with probably more than 100 festivals of all kinds being held in venues throughout the republic, from the International Media Art Festival transmediale in the capital, Berlin, meanwhile Germany's largest media art festival, which has shifted its original focus from video art towards software and network art, particularly by culturally and politically active players, or the Stuttgart Filmwinter Festival for Expanded Media in the south of Germany, to the International Short Film Festival Hamburg, which puts on the very popular Trash Nite, which has become a cult event.
