	Einerseits setzen die Pioniere unermüdlich ihr Werk fort und fingen vielerorts an, an Kunsthochschulen zu lehren: darunter Nam June Paik an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Birgit Hein an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig, der österreichische Experimentalfilmer Peter Kubelka an der Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, Maria Vedder und Heinz Emigholz (der in seinen experimentellen Spielfilme "Normalsatz" (1978-81), "Die Basis des Make-up" (1984), "Die Wiese der Sachen" (1986-90) und "Der zynische Körper" (1993-2000) Dokumentation und Inszenierung verbindet) an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste Berlin am Institut für Zeitbasierte Medien, Marcel Odenbach und zur Zeit Klaus vom Bruch an der Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe und Peter Weibel am Institut für neue Medien in Frankfurt am Main, bevor er Direktor des ZKMs wurde.
