Seit bereits fünf Jahren mixen, rühren und schütteln die Musiker und Klang-Bastler dieser Berliner Band mit dem Musik-Shaker: der Bassist Beat Halberschmidt, der Gitarrist Dirk Berger, Schlagzeuger Sebastian Krajewski und an den Plattentellern DJ Illvibe. [G]

For five years the musicians and sound tinkers of this Berlin band have been mixing, stirring and shaking the music shaker: bass player Beat Halberschmidt, guitarist Dirk Berger, drummer Sebastian Krajewski and at the turntables DJ Illvibe.

Ursprünglich von Gitarrist Frank Möbus und dem Bassklarinettisten Rudi Mahall in Nürnberg als Quintett-Formation mit dem amerikanischen Jazzposaunisten Marty Cook, Henning Sieverts am Bass und dem Drummer Jim Black gegründet, prägten doch, bei allen Umformierungen, die die Gruppe seitdem erfahren hat, Möbus und Mahall von Beginn an mit ihrer kreativen Suche nach frischem Klang, ihren doppelbödigen, von Pop und Rock ebenso wie von Jazz und Zwölfton-Musik beeinflussten Kompositionen und ihrer sehr individuellen, Energie geladenen Spielweise den unverwechselbaren Sound der Band. Originally founded by guitarist Frank Möbus and bass clarinettist Rudi Mahall in Nuremberg as a quintet with the American jazz trombonist Marty Cook, Henning Sieverts on the bass and drummer Jim Black, the unmistakable sonic identity of the band has been stamped, from the beginning and through all its re-shapings, by Möbus's and Mahall's creative quest for a fresh sound, their ambiguous, pop and rock, jazz and twelve-tone-influenced compositions and their very individual, energy-charged style of playing.
