[G]	Most of these were the result of competitions held by the Munich-based Institute for German as a Foreign Language, which was also crucially involved in setting up the Adelbert von Chamisso prize, awarded for the first time in 1985 and today one of the most respected German literary awards.

[G]	Awards for foreign authors The Adelbert von Chamisso Prize is endowed by the Robert Bosch Foundation in Stuttgart to promote immigrant literature: it is awarded to writers who live or have lived in exile in Germany, as well as descendants of the foreign workers who came to the country in the 1960s and '70s.
