Ein besonders positives Beispiel für die fruchtbare Zusammenarbeit von Bibliotheken und Schulen ist - neben der medien@age - die Öffentliche Schulbibliothek in der Lortzingstraße, die im Februar 1996 ihre Türen zum Wissen öffnete. [G]

A particularly positive example of the fruitful co-operation between libraries and schools, apart from "medien@age", is the public school library in Lortzingerstrasse which opened its doors to the world of knowledge in February 1996.

Hinzu kommen 18 Stadtteilbibliotheken, eine Schulbibliothek sowie zwei moderne Fahrbibliotheken, die Bücher dorthin bringen, wo es keine stationäre Bibliothek gibt, und schließlich die Soziale Bibliotheksarbeit, die Ausleihstellen in eingemeindeten Ortschaften, Senioren- und Pflegeheimen, aber auch Förderschulen betreut und dort spezielle Medienpakete anbietet. What is more, there are 18 branch libraries, a school library and two modern mobile libraries that stop in areas where there is no permanent library. Last but not least, there is the so-called social library work, responsible for organising the issuing counters in areas belonging to but situated outside Dresden, in old people's and nursing homes and in special schools, and offering special media packages there.
