Der in der Prignitz geborene Benn lebte bis auf kurze Unterbrechungen in Westberlin, der aus Augsburg stammende Brecht von 1924 bis 1933 und ab seiner Rückkehr aus dem Exil 1949 im Ostteil der Stadt. [G] Benn, who was born in the Prignitz area to the north-west of Berlin, lived in West Berlin all his life with the exception of brief interludes; Brecht, who came from Augsburg in Bavaria, lived in the eastern part of the city from 1924 to 1933, and then following his return from exile in 1949.

Zwar erblickte Angela Dorothea Kasner am 17. Juli 1954 in Hamburg das Licht der Welt, doch schon drei Wochen später wurde sie in einem Tragekorb nach Quitzow, einem Dreihundert-Seelen-Dorf in der brandenburgischen Prignitz, in die DDR gebracht. [G] Although Angela Dorothea Kasner first saw the light in Hamburg on July 17, 1954, only three weeks later she was brought in a pannier to Quitzow, a village of three hundred souls in the Prignitz region of Brandenburg, in the German Democratic Republic (GDR).
