	Die Triennale selbst wurde 1999 maßgeblich durch F.C. Gundlach ins Leben gerufen. [G]	The Triennial itself was brought to life in 1999 chiefly through the efforts of F.C. Gundlach (b. 1926), one of the most renowned fashion photographers of the 1950s and '60s. A doctor honoris causa of the Hochschule für Bildende Künste [Academy of Art] in Hamburg, Gundlach is also an acknowledged connoisseur and collector of international fashion photography: his collection forms an integral part of the F.C. Gundlach Foundation.
