Oust \Oust\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Ousted}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Ousting}.] [OF. oster, F. [93]ter, prob. fr. L. obstare to oppose, hence, to forbid, take away. See {Obstacle}, and cf. {Ouster}.] 1.
