Jib \Jib\, n. [Named from its shifting from side to side. See       {Jib}, v. i.., {Jibe}.]       1. (Naut.) A triangular sail set upon a stay or halyard             extending from the foremast or fore-topmast to the             bowsprit or the jib boom.
