Laver \La"ver\ (l[amac]"v[etil]r), n. The fronds of certain marine alg[91] used as food, and for making a sauce called laver sauce. Green laver is the {Ulva latissima}; purple laver, {Porphyra laciniata} and {P. vulgaris}.
