From Easton's 1897 Bible Dictionary [easton]:
   Hatred
      among the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:20). Altogether different
      is the meaning of the word in Deut. 21:15; Matt. 6:24; Luke
      14:26; Rom. 9:13, where it denotes only a less degree of love.
