      1. (Bot.) A treelike perennial herb ({Musa paradisiaca}) of
            tropical regions, bearing immense leaves and large
            clusters of the fruits called plantains. See {Musa}.

            of several large African birds of the genus {Musophaga},
            or family {Musophagid[91]}, especially {Musophaga
