   Gong \Gong\, n.
      1. [Malayan (Jav.) g[omac]ng.] An instrument, first used in
            the East, made of an alloy of copper and tin, shaped like
            a disk with upturned rim, and producing, when struck, a
            harsh and resounding noise.
