      Mary. Cf. {Alecost}.] (Bot.)
      A garden plant ({Chrysanthemum Balsamita}) having a strong
      balsamic smell, and nearly allied to tansy. It is used as a
      pot herb and salad plant and in flavoring ale and beer.
      Called also {alecost}.
