            sanctuary. In it Moses placed the two tables of stone
            containing the ten commandments. Called also the {Ark of
            the Covenant}.
  
      3. The large, chestlike vessel in which Noah and his family
            were preserved during the Deluge. --Gen. vi. Hence: Any
