   Shirk \Shirk\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Shirked}; p. pr. & vb. n.
      {Shirking}.] [Probably the same word as shark. See {Shark},
      v. t.]
      1. To procure by petty fraud and trickery; to obtain by mean
            solicitation.
