Jealous \Jeal"ous\, a. [OE. jalous, gelus, OF. jalous, F. jaloux, LL. zelosus zealous, fr. zelus emulation, zeal, jealousy, Gr. zh^los. See {Zeal}, and cf. {Zealous}.] 1.
