Scant \Scant\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Scanted}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Scanting}.] 1. To limit; to straiten; to treat illiberally; to stint; as, to scant one in provisions; to scant ourselves in the use of necessaries.
