Geht es um ein bedeutendes Thema oder, wenn es eher ,klein' ist, schafft der Autor es, das Allgemeingültige im Thema zu finden, um damit ein breiteres Publikum anzusprechen? Im Journalismus gibt es die Redewendung: "All stories are local". Wenn ich also von einem bedeutenden Thema spreche, meine ich nicht eine Geschichte, die sich zwangsläufig um bedeutende Menschen dreht. Es könnte genau eine Geschichte über das Leben einfacher Leute sein, die uns etwas wichtiges sagt. [G]

Then there are several criteria: is it well written? Is it about an important subject or, if it is about a small subject, does it transcend its subject to make it interesting to a wider audience? There is a saying in journalism that all stories are local, so when I say an important subject I do not mean a story that necessarily involves important people - it might well be a subject that deals with the lives of ordinary people in such a way that tells us important things.
