Article 15(7) of Protocol 4 [1] to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Tunisia, of the other part [2] (hereafter referred to as 'the Agreement'), allows drawback of, or exemption from, customs duties or charges having an equivalent effect, subject to certain conditions, until 31 December 2009.

From 1 January each year, the quota of 56700 tonnes of untreated olive oil falling within CN codes 15091010 and 15091090 wholly obtained in Tunisia and transported direct from that country to the Community, which is provided for in Article 3 of Protocol 1 to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Tunisia, of the other part, may be imported at a zero rate of duty.

Abweichend von Absatz 1 stellen die zuständigen Behörden in Fällen, in denen Ursprungserzeugnisse der Gemeinschaft oder Tunesiens mit Ursprungsnachweis in eine Freizone eingeführt und dort einer Behandlung oder Bearbeitung unterzogen werden, auf Antrag des Ausführers eine neue Warenverkehrsbescheinigung EUR.1 oder EUR-MED aus, wenn die Behandlung oder Bearbeitung den Bestimmungen dieses Protokolls entspricht. By way of derogation from paragraph 1, when products originating in the Community or in Tunisia are imported into a free zone under cover of a proof of origin and undergo treatment or processing, the authorities concerned shall issue a new movement certificate EUR.1 or EUR-MED at the exporter's request, if the treatment or processing undergone complies with the provisions of this Protocol.
