Der Poet unter den deutschen Romanautoren, der Sprachen-Erfinder Feridun Zaimoglu liefert uns mit "Leyla" ein neues Beispiel seiner meisterlichen Prosa, der man nicht gerecht wird, wenn man sie nur vordergründig und eindimensional wie einen Beitrag zur Beleuchtung der Lebensverhältnisse türkischer Frauen (und Männer) im Widerstreit zwischen traditionalen Lebensmustern und den Verheißungen bzw. The poet among the German novelists, the language inventor Feridun Zaimoglu provides us with a new example of his masterful prose in "Leyla", which one would not be doing justice to if one were to read it superficially and one-dimensionally as just another attempt to analyse the living conditions of Turkish women (and men) as they negotiate the conflicts between traditional patterns of life and the temptations and perspectives of a free, modern, self-determined existence.

"Die Jugend Enrico Türmers in Briefen und Prosa" liegt der nun wohl klassische oder - wie manche meinen - "ultimative" Wenderoman vor, auch wenn sich durchaus auch andere Autoren fundiert mit der DDR, ihrer Geschichte und ihren mentalen Hinterlassenschaften auseinandersetzen, wie z.B. Bernd Schirmer in seinem Roman Der letzte Sommer der Indianer, der den Leser in die "eingefrorenen letzten DDR-Jahre" entführt, oder Erich Loest, der in Sommergewitter den 17. Juni 1953 in den Blick nimmt. [G]

"Die Jugend Enrico Türmers in Briefen und Prosa (New Lives: The Early Life of Enrico Türmer in Letters and Prose)", we probably now have the classic or - as some commentators have said - the "ultimate" Wenderoman: A novel about the events surrounding German reunification in 1989, although other authors certainly deal in a thoroughly knowledgeable way with the GDR, its history and its mental legacies, including Bernd Schirmer in his novel Der letzte Sommer der Indianer (The Red Indians' Last Summer), which transports the reader to the "deep frozen last years of the GDR", and Erich Loest, who analyses the events of 17 June 1953 in Sommergewitter (Summer Storm).

Schwerpunkt der sechssemestrigen Ausbildung, die mit einer literarischen Arbeit in einem der Hauptfächer Lyrik, Prosa, Dramatik / Neue Medien abgeschlossen wird, ist die Arbeit an den Texten der Studenten, die durch literaturwissenschaftliche und -theoretische Veranstaltungen ergänzt wird. [G]

Zsuzsanna Gahse, Übersetzerin und Autorin, stellt in ihrem Buch "Instabile Texte" die Frage des Über-Setzens über translatologische Aspekte hinaus in einen Zusammenhang von Worten, Bildern, Landschaften und Räumen, die erkundet und im Feingewebe einer bisweilen poetischen Prosa reflektiert werden. In her book "Instabile Texte (Unstable Texts)", Zsuzsanna Gahse, a translator and author, goes beyond translation problems as such to locate the question of trans-lating in a context of words, images, landscapes and spaces that are explored and reflected in the fine fabric of an at times poetic prose.

Zum ersten Mal stellt die Autorenwerkstatt Prosa des Literarischen Colloquiums Berlin (LCB) ihre Stipendiaten auf der Leipziger Buchmesse der Öffentlichkeit vor: In der Veranstaltung Prosa-Prognosen werden zehn junge Autorinnen und Autoren präsentiert, die im letzten Herbst am LCB an ihren Texten feilten. The Autorenwerkstatt Prosa (i.e. Authors Prose Workshop) of the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin LCB (i.e. Berlin Literary Colloquium) will be presenting its scholarship-holders to the public at the Leipzig Book Fair for the first time. In the Prose Prognoses event, ten young authors who were putting the finishing touches to their texts at the LCB last autumn will be presented.
