The Sächsische Landesbibliothek - Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Dresden [Saxon Land Library - Dresden State and University Library], SLUB for short, is one of a new generation of libraries that present themselves as modern and functional, but are architectural masterpieces at the same time.

Im imposanten neuen Gebäude der SLUB am Zelleschen Weg, das nach vierjähriger Bauzeit am 14. Januar 2003 feierlich eingeweiht wurde, sind die umfangreichen Bestände zweier Dresdner Bibliotheken - der Sächsischen Landesbibliothek (SLB) und der Bibliothek der Technischen Universität (UB) - zusammengeführt worden. The extensive stocks of two Dresden libraries - the Sächsische Landesbibliothek [Saxon State Library] (SLB) and the Bibliothek der Technischen Universität [Technical University Library] (UB) - have been brought together in the impressive new SLUB building on Zellescher Weg, which was inaugurated in a ceremony on 14 January 2003 after a construction period of 4 years.
